It all started with words, till they formed up a line// Than the ink made another, till they fell into rhymes// Now I’m committed to scrutinize the lyrics that I write// When I listen I dance, when I scribble I fight// I feel the gloom and weariness inside me// Logically I’m the apple and the world is the tree// Trying to get out of the bubble, see the struggle around me// Move muscle while I can, battle with the apathy// Ignorance is bliss, guess that’s the reason for it’s reign// Enslave people over power, money and fame// Like we’re rational beings in a game of chance// Born in the wrong universe doing our meaningful dance// Get the boy a fix , cos it’s all pretty meaningless// Still see the spark in his iris// These children don’t have the words to say what they mean// So ‘eff’ this world is what they tend to keep saying// I’m praying Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// I can't get enough of than invisible stuff// I can't get enough of than invisible stuff// I can't get enough of than invisible stuff// No I can't get enough// Visible stuff, thats the spirit of man// You know the man with the axe to protect his clan// They say survival of the fittest, but we're over that now// So when you're over that now, next up is how// We won't dwell here forever, we all know that's fact// Bro Im not striving for consensus but reality check// Mate, I love the sound, sight, smell and taste// But without a destination life is a waste// You know, we all know, and so we cover up the hole// Go occupy your mind and malnourish your soul// It wasn't hard to conform but then I bid adue// When I got down on my knees and levitated up to// Invisible stuff, thats the spirit of faith// I got a longing in my heart that makes me prostrate// Human being, dont know the heights you could achieve// We're all one step away from something we wont believe// No Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// Invisible stuff (Invisible stuff)// My inside is bilateral, but connected to the whole that's outside// One like day bright in your face, the other hidden as night// Heed the obvious, kinda is, like perceptual blindness// Blind your eyes, blessing in disguise, the hidden gets obvious// Figuretively another sign, of mixing spiritual and material// But quite literal though senses lack perceiving actual ethereal// Imagine, no rather, stop all the fluff and open up// We should try to live as if we could perceive the invisible stuff// O God

Sunrise 04:06
It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// Time to get up, time to get up// It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// There’s light in my eyes, sunrise// Every morning I wake up, saying my prayers// Sun rising up as I walk up the stairs// 6 AM is the time, I’m feeling sublime// Spitting my rhyme, not a thing on my mind// When you serve the world, cultivate the earth// Things get their perspective and everything is worth// What it is, it’s bliss, like a blessing from the sky// Following His path so He is on my side// That’s kinda hard to say, but when you pray to Him// Repenting your sin, say you can’t win without Him// And that’s just the beginning// I want to teach you something so let me stress this// God is real, He is mighty, He gave us free will// We get a choice in our hands like a gun to kill// It’s serious, be curious, so open your mind// You only got one chance cus you can’t rewind// It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// Time to get up, time to get up// It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// There’s light in my eyes, sunrise// Verse two is a question about us being here// Got two eyes, two ears, and a whole lot of tears// Roaming the earth, but what is it worth// Living a losing game that started at birth// If you got nothing to live for, to die for// We consume but happiness isn’t sold in a store// The world is spilling gore, we can’t see the shore// The world is asleep, can you hear it snore// I got questions, about wasting my time// Cus living life in this time ain’t really that divine// I got questions, about life after death// It makes me realize the importance of my breath// I got questions, about sinning in life// When you wake up in the evening and live a nightlife// I know the answers to these questions cus I’m living them now// And everything seems to work out somehow// It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// Time to get up, time to get up// It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// There’s light in my eyes, sunrise// So life goes on, the next chapter is on// The old one is done, blessings are shown// I had to do it alone, but than I found you// And though we ain’t perfect we can help each other through// It’s your eyes, your ideas, your smile, your soul I love you physical, spiritual, intellectual// But wow Jonathan, don’t take it there// Talk about the world cus it’s in despair// Yeah I’m back where it’s at, how about that// The rain gave me pain and you can still see the stains// On my pants, my shoes, my mind, my soul// I left for a purpose and came back with a goal// Praise the Lord, the Greatest, the Greatest// Praise His Messenger, the latest, the latest// When I die, it’s funny, cus I can’t take my money// I’ll take a book full of prayers and the soul of my honey// It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// Time to get up, time to get up// It’s sunrise, the sun is rising up// And like the sun, I’m gonna reach the top// It’s time to get up, time to get up// There’s light in my eyes, sunrise//

On My Knees 04:23
Can someone please explain cus I don’t understand// How we got superficial like the world is all flat again// Tell me, do you see what I see// I see through my own eyes, my view is free// Still my right goes wrong, my skin tough as leather// My soul got wings, but wet feathers// I should have, could have, would have, done that// Yes I know all the advice now let me be sad// Fed up and upset, though I’m feeling sorta grateful// I thought I had a cupful and now I have a plateful// Of trails and tests so let me digest// A moment of silence, and conflict I guess// But instead of outside it happens all inside me// My mind is a maze and a hell of a place// Though I’m filled with grace, of what I’m gonna be// Right now, I’m on my knees// O Lord I’m suffering, guide my feet// Hold my hand, I’m in need// Ooh-hoo-hoo// // O my Lord, make our steps firm// Quench our thirst, our souls are yearning// Ooh-hoo-hoo// // The sun is shining, but the clouds are floating by// Raindrops drop down, they’re making the town cry// But really, why, is what we all ask right// The only chance to know is to go high like a kite// And get above the surface, see the clouds from below// Be a plane in its flight or be detach fully aglow// But my cousin’s flying kites to get relieve I believe// We ain’t all that spiritual so we watch the kites go// O Lord I’m suffering, guide my feet// Go, go// When I die today, everything will be okay// When I die tomorrow, today will be full of sorrow// We duck and we crawl, try to reach for the stars// You might run from trouble but there ain’t place there far// So you gotta be content, gotta be at peace// Gotta be accepting to get on your knees// As long as you get up and face the road ahead// Stop running away, get freedom instead// O Lord I’m suffering, guide my feet// Hold my hand, I’m in need// Ooh-hoo-hoo// // O my Lord, make our steps firm// Quench our thirst, our souls are yearning// Ooh-hoo-hoo// // Why does this child cry people tell me why// He got no place to reside, when we turning the tide//
5.
What I’m about to say is a lesson perhaps// We’re consumerists and now we gotta to pay the check// It’s apathy, lethargy, instant gratification// It’s like a disease that spreads through the nation// We need a new foundation, that is based upon truth// That's instrumental to the youth, abandon all congregations// And so my time is spent, one hundred percent// On being cement for the building blocks of civilization// I love life right, sometimes it’s hard though// I was questioning 'why's', but that’s some time ago// I was eleven or twelve, going to school every day// And now I’m striving for ends so get out the way// But then I met this young fellow, he said that’s so hollow// And now I feel the same way as back in the day// I was probably twelve, the roadsigns I misread// So I packed my stuff and went straight ahead// Straight ahead now// Where do we go now// I went straight ahead, smashed into the wall// Fighting for betterment, now people can call on me// People can call on me, can I call on you// The promises they make are long overdue// Let’s go straight ahead now, straight ahead// Straight ahead now, straight ahead// Let’s go straight ahead now, straight ahead// Straight ahead now, now, now// They say the generation now is stuck on the surface// I’ll speak for myself, I’m living with purpose// I’m breaking patterns or changing ‘em at least// I’m praising the angle and slaying the beast// I go against the grain like a salmon on course// Swim upstream from the mouth lay eggs at the source// Though you need some sleep, some prayers and nutrion// Creating paradise is just a matter of volition// I met an old man when I was visiting a friend// I told him it’s the world I don’t understand// Why people do this, and people do that// He said you need to know this in order to comprehend// “Soon the present-day order is rolled up”, he said// “And a new one will be spread out in its stead”// You gotta see for yourself, don’t ever get misled// You gotta grab all your courage and go straight ahead// Straight ahead now// Where do we go now// I went straight ahead, smashed into the wall// Fighting for betterment, now people can call on me// People can call on me, can I call on you// The promises they make are long overdue// Let’s go straight ahead now, straight ahead// Straight ahead now, straight ahead// Let’s go straight ahead now, straight ahead// Straight ahead now, now, now//

One 01:18
We’re one, one, you gotta believe// It’s all love, you gotta believe// It’s not two, it’s not three// It’s one, one, please believe// One people, one race, one universal family// One God, one Faith, one destiny// It’s all just physics, you see the logic of// The magnetic force, we call it love// It’s all just love, and the lack there of// Explains why we see the times being rough// You gotta be yourself, that’s gotta be enough// You only have to know, you only have to love// We’re one, one, you gotta believe// It’s all love, you gotta believe// It’s not two, it’s not three// It’s one, one, please believe//

On The Count 02:55
I wanna spit it, get it, live it through and not quit it, get it// I'm not gonna stop until freakin' world heard it// So hear it, I heart it, it goes hard// Cause I guard it with a layer of pride, street smarts// Being smart about it, it started out as blowing of steam// Breathing fire into the heart, this dream// I can't sleep at night for God sake, what happened to peace// The well-balanced boy's coming of age through release// The boy is gone, it's all done, can you keep up with these syllables// My tongue turned to flames, stumbling, just to reach you// Seems Im educating myself just to teach you// Im still figuring it out so now I just wanna be with you// This is the calling of my soul// To get free, get free, get free// Whatever's holding you back, tear it apart// On the count of three going (one, two, three)// And fly, and fly, and fly// Listen here now, its quite clear child// There's so much to you so dont fear child// You got a bag of potential, a heart full of dreams// And I'll promise that you'll reach everything you believe// Now how's that for hope, you got God in the sky// Unbelievers gather round when you're hearing this sound// Apply the spiritual laws, o people of the righteous// The thunder is frightening until its on your side// No fear// No fear, lets go// No fear, are you ready// 1, 2, 3, hey// This is the calling of my soul// To get free, get free, get free// Whatever's holding you back, tear it apart// On the count of three going (one, two, three)// You're holding back child// Don't you worry 'bout a thing// Nothing// Cause you're okay child// You got this thing on lock and when it comes you'll// show, show, show// This is the calling of my soul// To get free, get free, get free// Whatever's holding you back, tear it apart// On the count of three going (one, two, three)//
8.
Nearer 03:21
And I came with an accent, I said Netherlands// My surname something with pants// I'm tryna get nearer to your hips and ties// I mean I'm tryna get nearer to the mirror of your eyes// She opened her door, tousled hair and a housecoat// It kinda made me grin, thoughts of sin, but no// Why not take a shot but I finna go higher// Higher, higher, higher// Hell yeah to that dude the picture gets clearer// I feel I'm getting nearer, they asking me// What have you been up to these last three years// Nearer, nearer, nearer// I study so hard like ain't no one my equal// Plus I gotta serve my people, yeah bro that's how we do// Plus I hunger for rhymes like a literate leapord// And I tell you right now that God is my sheppard// Cause truly around me all I see is distractions// And people act like beasts chasing instant satisfactions// What is your long term goal like, what are you here for// Living for the here now but tomorrow will come// I am trying to// I am trying to// Get nearer// To You// I've been searching all my life// I've been taken to new heights// To get nearer// To You my God// Life is, makin' an effort// But I got nothing prove, I got nothing to lose// Oh goodness, gotta love the good guy// Take my hands if you wanna go high// Yeah Pooh bear loves honey, I love it too// In a monogamous way so it's only you// But then once in a while I break my own heart// By wanting a cookie that should be left in the jar// My eyes won't provide sight, so I pray every night, my// God is really there like Bruce Almighty// You don't believe me, well it's pretty unbelievable// It's conscious knowledge though, it's all rational// But some ridicule, the water-dismissing fish// Who act like plants that say animals don't exist// See I just turned around like in Plato's allegory// Of the cave, now over waves let my give you my story// My identity's capacity, it's raised while it unfolds// Servitude is the state, happiness the result// Full circle is the feeling, meaning's in the mirror// Of my heart as it's sparked, my soul is gettin' nearer// I am trying to// I am trying to// Get nearer// To You// I've been searching all my life// I've been taken to new heights// To get nearer// To You my God//

Beau 03:09
I was travelling by train, going to my apartment// To do community work, feeling happy-hearted// And when I finally arrived, I realized// I forgot my keys, searched my back twice// Nothing else I could do than to go back// Hop on the train while my brain takes a reality check// Like what’s the reason for this besides plain stupidity// Deep in thought when a girl comes sit in front of me/./ I noticed through her phone talk she’s from India// Only gone back to renew her visa// We get into a conversation, about the temple in New Delhi// When she looked at me I felt a spark in me// The ashrams and the people made her parents go there// I can imagine, I’ve seen Slumdog Millionaire// She's full of praise, but raised there for a start// Doesn’t like tradition but the people share their heart// Than the train arrived so we had to say goodbye// Exchanged e-mails in case we ever wanted to say hi// I felt my whole day changing, no substitute for this// Either a momentary climax or permanent bliss// Hey Beau, you spark my thought// Connect hearts like God, it’s love, It’s friendship// It kinda feels like magic// And I’m an addict, get with it// I don’t want every girl who passes me by// Try to get my lust on, like she wants me to try// Is it because your self-esteem is tied// To your body that you dress up for passion and fire// And I long for ascension but now I’m full of desire// Plus I don’t wanna try, I want a home and a wife// And I don’t want her for summer, I want her for life// We’ll be a team not a dream so give me high five// Let me tell your ‘bout my only vice// It has to do with lots of loving and it ain’t nothing nice// I’m a sucker for love, hate it when times get rough// I’ll use fortitude and gratitude, regain my altitude// Humble attitude, fell in love with a girl// with a French name, broke up, who’s to blame// I still love her, well what do ya know// Her name doesn’t rhyme though//

South Bronx, 1974// Party people dancing at a b-ball court// A James Brown record is hittin' the break// And all the party people screamin' we want more// fast forward... What happened to the heart, pumping blood into the art// They say its outta love well love is a start// The world is but a stage, I play my part// That God gave me, cause He made me// So kid, go mingle, you stand at the beginning// My rhymes make you grin, I know that you'll be winning// If you're willing, cause I know that your past was imprinting// Wheels are slipping, but that only says that they are spinning// Raise you're hands up, raise 'em up, raise 'em higher// The stakes are high, and so it's time to buckle up// So raise 'em up, raise your hands, it's time to raise 'em higher// My arteries connect to the amplifier wire// ...// Yeah I rhyme, give me a stage// And I'll shine, give me my life// And I'll climb up the ladder till I resemble// The sun, cause thats the one things that matter// Like the treble of the trump givs me goosebumps// Facing troubles I wont run, talking growth its never done// See I write these raps in my head when Im on my bicycle// Phonologicaly looping 'em till I jot 'em on my phone// What I wrote is this: you stand at the beginning// My rhymes make you grin, I know that you'll be winning// If you're willing, cause I know that your past was imprinting// Wheels are slipping, but that only says that they are spinning// Raise you're hands up, raise 'em up, raise 'em higher// The stakes are high, and so it's time to buckle up// So raise 'em up, raise your hands, it's time to raise 'em higher// My arteries connect to the amplifier wire// Life can be full of heavy colors// I wanna confide in you like a softer pillow// Im about to tearfall, like a recent widow// But no, i am a decent hero// Im clad with knowledge of self and I don't wear it for show// Come at me bro, but then guess what// Ill show you love like you're my brother, cause brother// The world is torn and it is falling apart// And so I bruise where it hurts and it keeps coming back// Like Im a sponge to the world that is soaking me wet// It dawned upon me through a phrase I'll share with you// Be calm, be strong, be grateful// Raise you're hands up, raise 'em up, raise 'em higher// The stakes are high, and so it's time to buckle up// So raise 'em up, raise your hands, it's time to raise 'em higher// My arteries connect to the amplifier wire//

Lookin' Up 04:07
Hey girl, can I ask a question// Did you get enough love when you were young or are you stressing it// Got my shortcomings, they’re the cause of fear// It’s just to let you know that I won’t blame you dear// My fear got existential, the test is so essential// The trial is vital cus it’ll make life more manageable// Life can be hard, but that’s not what I wanna say// Every day is getting better like the weather in May// You gotta look up like unto a gigantic waterfall//// Pointing his finger to the sky being tall yet humble// Let us drop the fear and act with love// You know the world is filled with invisible stuff// We’re looking up Lauded be Thy Name O Lord our God Thou art in truth The knower of things unseen Hey brother, do you have a minute// Are you in it to win it or is it none of my business// Let me tell you when you are, everything is far greater// Thank we think, like we see but can’t go that far// But later when you and I will be friends// When we start to understand, that we’re not in command// Of our own lives, like we didn’t make it but we got here// Use science and religion to discover what we got here// Hey, hey, let it all go// Love, love, let it all show// Please drop the fear, let’s act with love// You know the world is emerged in invisible stuff// We’re looking up Lauded be Thy Name O Lord our God Thou art in truth The knower of things unseen When I peek into the blackness, see stars from afar// Got me questioning my motives and who we really are// They say there only is what we discover with our senses// But it’s going up way further than we can comprehend// When I look down, I see minerals and animals// And seeds that are growing, magic that is showing// But it's all so logical, as supposed to// When I look up to the sky so high, My God// Imagine what is up there, nobody knows// There's a kingdom up there where, nobody goes// And they’re looking down to us underneath// Walking the path of mysticism with practical feet// We’re looking up We’re looking up

Sunburn 03:27
Blow your mind on the edge of the sacred and the silly// I pause to wonder, this is my natural ability// The beauty is captured in the blink of an eye// This exposure to life shapes how my vision is dyed// No wonder so many people are sad and depressed// Like all these family drama's, mom and dad make a mess// That's why I chose to learn to teach 'em how to succeed// It's dire need, so these breezes are the hope for succes// The sky is blue or grey, I'm colorblind anyway// I'm insecure about what clothes match to wear today// When I think about this, life could be sorta grey// But it's sweet that underneath we put our life on a pathway// And once we grapple on we get a bigger dosis// Of reality, candle lit, experience shows it// Bask in artistic brilliance, a way to build resilience// We sing our song to carry on building bridges to zillions// Struggle is growth, joy to the pain// Sacrifice is love, moths to the flame// I adore and therefore need to find it's name// It produces ecstacy to set the world aflame// Struggle is growth, joy to the pain// Sacrifice is love, moths to the flame// I adore and therefore need to find it's name// It produces ecstacy to set the world aflame// Isn't that insane? Where you find that in the brain?// We reach for the sky like the towers in Bahrain// But people jump off towers when they're dreams are drained// To leave our collective mind troubled and stained// Insane, breaking down the sum of it's parts// To it's parts, atoms, neutrons and quarks// Infinity both ways, I was counting for days// What is it trying to convey, isn't that insane?// Isn't that insane, one day I was daydreamin'// My conscious was streamin', I let you glean in// I saw a box of matches lying on the table// When it started to shake it's when it started a fable// A little match climbed out, and guess what// He started rubbing his nut to the side so hard// He got all excited when he caught the first flames// After seconds he was charred only his smile remained// Struggle is growth, joy to the pain// Sacrifice is love, moths to the flame// I adore and therefore need to find it's name// It produces ecstacy to set the world aflame// Struggle is growth, joy to the pain// Sacrifice is love, moths to the flame// I adore and therefore need to find it's name// It produces ecstacy to set the world aflame//

about

Invisible Stuff is about the search for truth, the art of living, the pursuit of excellence and the unity of people. All these themes are tied together by it’s main theme: the perceiving of the unseen. These songs convey thoughts, feelings and experiences that try to capture life’s spiritual laws. In search of the Invisible of the Invisibles. This album is dedicated to Hugo van Bolhuis. My hope is that this album, in all its humbleness, will contribute to your outlook on life; as all these songs carry realizations that shaped my frame of reference. These songs are shaping sounds.
